Spokes America is a student-driven project with a mission of getting kids across the country excited about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Since 2013, teams of Harvard and MIT students have set out to bike ride across the country, conducting learning festivals along the way. This year, we are a team of eight Harvard and MIT students – computer scientists, physicists, biologists, engineers, and mathematicians – excited to share a love for STEM with middle schoolers and high schoolers across the nation. This blog will chronicle our adventures as bikers, teachers, students, and humans as we make our way from Washington DC to San Francisco this summer.
This year, Spokes America is growing: a second group of Stanford students will bike West to East. We’re so excited to be expanding and getting in contact with more students in more places.
